The Philippou Brothers are twin content creators from Australia who went by the moniker RackaRacka. They made mostly comedy videos, a common thread with all these modern YouTubers turned Horror filmmakers, before their feature debut Talk To Me became an International attention getter. (I’m a little surprised their first film doesn’t rank higher, but it’s coming up in less than 20 places. So, the difference in minimal.) This 2nd film is both expertly made and a grim experience. Performances, story, practical effects and sound are flawless, which is what makes “gnarly” a fitting description for some of the body horror. This has some of the most unforgettable scenes involving teeth, knives and wood, and I say that not to set you up for thrills, but as a warning.
