Yesterday I wrote about Memento, a brilliant script many crew admitted they didn’t understand. Imagine being the Crew of Eraserhead. Admittedly, it was a much smaller crew, and I don’t think anyone believed they were working on a film that would be understood, let alone have such a lasting impact on Cinema. They put their faith in a young filmmaker named David Lynch back before that name carried any proof of abilities. (How many art films exist, largely unwatched, that hoped to be the next Eraserhead?)
