Quiz Show
Directed by Robert Redford
Year 1994
1994 came down to a debate between Forrest Gump and Pulp Fiction. The Shawshank Redemption later became the highest rated film on IMDB, leaving Quiz Show to be the prestige film that faded into the background. The film deserved a better fate, amazing and entertaining to watch from every angle. It starts with the screenplay by Paul Attanasio, which has so much witty dialogue the opening scene is merely a prelude to get your ears ready for the next two hours. The direction by Robert Redford is his best combination of stylish beauty and actors performing at their highest levels. That may be expected from Ralph Finnes, John Turturro and Paul Scofield, but it also goes for *deep breath* Rob Morrow, David Paymer, Hank Azaria, Christopher McDonald, Mira Sorvino, Timothy Busfield, Ernie Sabella and two legendary directors, Barry Levinson and Martin Scorsese.
