There has never been a movie like this. Mixing Horror, Rock and Roll, Science Fiction, and Camp while celebrating transgressive sexuality, the film adaptation of an unusually successful theatrical experience opened to small box office. In time, it found its audience and became THE midnight movie, the definitive cult movie, an interactive movie experience with a rabid fanbase.
