The Muppets Christmas Carol has become a Holiday Classic, but it’s not the Best Muppets Christmas special. This television special has been rightly compared to Avengers: Endgame because it combines all of Jim Henson’s various Muppets, such as Sesame Street, Fraggle Rock and Muppet Babies, throws in a couple of new characters and has one of the All Time great cameos. The script is by Jerry Juhl, the main writer for the Henson era, and it ends with everyone gathered for a warm and fuzzy singalong of Christmas Classics.
The Special has not aired on Disney+ because of a number of rights issues with some songs and characters. It was released on home video with segments missing, but over the years it has appeared in its entirety on various Free streaming platforms, like YouTube, Vimeo and Internet Archive and the transfers available now are in High Definition. Do Not spend the Holidays without it! Highest Recommendation!
