Horror comes in many flavors and this is one of my favorites. The Blade trilogy is known mostly as a superhero action franchise, but Blade II is definitely also a Horror film if for no other reason than the Reapers, a type of Vampire completely new to the genre. With a slit down the middle of their chin, they feed by opening up their chins for an extra wide and frightening bite. This type of original creature design can be easily traced to the film’s director, Guillermo del Toro. Easily the best filmmaker to helm a Blade movie, this is also my favorite film from GDT.
