Our definitive list of the Best Horror/Thrillers of All Time uses the data compiled over at the website They Shoot Zombies. It’s updated every year and I’m part of the team that works on the update. Their data comes from over 4300 different sources, and the difference between the two lists is that ours also includes another 200+ active critics and filmmakers who post lists that they update throughout the year. This includes our own ratings for every qualifying film as we watch them, so this list is constantly making small adjustments and entering new titles. For example, before the update Curry Barker’s Obsession was #304 on our list, but it won’t make They Shoot Zombies until next year. (The posters above are some of the new titles entering their list, all of which have been part of ours pretty much since their release date.)
I’ll be making the changes to our list based on their update and report back, including where Obsession now sits.
